Innovations
Ecumen envisions a world in which aging is viewed and understood in radically different ways. Following are just a few examples of Ecumen innovation in senior services:
Mill City Commons
Through a strategic partnership with residents in the historic milling section of Minneapolis near the Guthrie Theater, Ecumen is working with neighbors to create a “virtual village” membership organization that promotes successful aging in an intergenerational neighborhood.
QuietCare Technology
Ecumen was one of the country’s first senior services companies to introduce GE QuietCare, an unobtrusive, proactive sensor technology that can help identify emerging health problems. View Video.
Dakim BrainFitness
Ecumen introduced Dakim BrainFitness, a computer based program scientifically designed to "exercise" all cognitive processes- from memory computation, critical thinking and daily life skills.
Ivivi SofPulse
Ivivi SofPulse is an advanced technology in wound care therapy that uses pulsed electromagnetic frequency to promote healing. “Micro-currents” enhance the normal electromechanical processes of the body, creating greater healing efficiency.
Mobile Assisted Living
Ecumen developed mobile assisted living in Detroit Lakes, Minn., where we deliver supportive services to people in their homes. The service was an inaugural recipient of Governor Pawlenty’s Best Practices Award for Faith and Community Service Initiatives.
Vitalize! Wellness Centre
On the campus of Ecumen’s Parmly LifePointes community is an area wellness center that is focused on physical, intellectual, spiritual, social, emotional and vocational growth. Offerings include: yoga, massage, Tai Chi, aquatic exercise, aerobic equipment, Techno Gym personalized fitness equipment, a serenity garden, community art shows, and an array of educational courses. “Green” by Design
Ecumen has partnered with North Country Health Services in Bemidji, Minn., to build green senior housing that is being submitted for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
Behavioral Alzheimer’s Care
Ecumen has developed one of the country’s few housing options – Summit House at Prairie Lodge in Brooklyn Center, Minn., for people living with extreme and violent behavioral challenges caused by Alzheimer’s.
Rehabilitation Center
Ecumen developed a new rehabilitation center focused solely on rehabilitation. It is part of Ecumen’s Lakeshore community in Duluth, Minn. Located on the shores of Lake Superior, it provides a seamless transition from the hospital and is focused on empowering healing.
